Grading system

The quality of the evidence and the strength of the recommendations are categorized according to a 4-level color schema adapted from existing level of evidence criteria.
We use an adapted version of the ‘‘Applying classification of recommendations and level of evidence’’ criteria of the American Heart Association and of the Grading of Recommendations Assessment Development and Evaluation (GRADE) criteria of the GRADE working group.*
